REAL WEDDING: LAUREN AND JACK
When it comes to weddings, it doesn’t get more dreamy and stylish than the wedding of my gorgeous couple Lauren and Jack who married within the stunning setting of Norwood Park Estate in Southwell, Nottinghamshire in June this year.
This day was the perfect blend of style and substance, filled with so much love and laughter, special touches, elegant and sophisticated decor, great food and killer cocktails. It had all the feels of a James Bond movie mixed with old Hollywood glamour. A dream team of suppliers was brought together to bring their wedding vision to life and it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of.
I met Lauren and Jack at Norwood Park Wedding fair at the beginning of 2025, and whilst they had already booked a single-tier vintage heart wedding cake, after seeing my dessert display, they simply fell in love with the idea of a dessert table filled with mini Italian pasticcini for their guests to enjoy at their evening reception. Shortly after, they got in touch and came for a consultation and tasting appointment, and it was so lovely to see the excitement and energy this couple had for their wedding plans and how smitten they were with each other.
After hearing about their black tie style wedding vision, we set about designing their perfect dessert table menu, a wonderful mixture of textures and flavours including piccole pavlova with seasonal summer berries, vanilla and raspberry crostatine, indulgent ferrero rocher trifles and luscious limoncello bigne. This would be presented on a beautiful display using white chiffon draping, elegant bud vases, intimate candlelight, classic gold and glass cake stands in front of the floor to ceiling mirrors of the stunning gallery space.
On the day, the sun was shining and their vows were taken under the beautiful pergola, within the breathtaking grounds of Norwood Park estate, surrounded by family and friends. When I received these images from the very talented Mark Bamforth, they gave me all the feels for the emotion of this special day. Jack’s face when he saw Lauren walking down the aisle in her stunning Calla Blanche gown said everything, and the pride in Lauren’s dad’s face was just magical.
Canape's and cocktails on the lawn flowed as friends and family gathered to congratulate the newlyweds. This was followed by a delicious 3 course dinner in the elegantly styled long gallery prepared by the excellent Norwood Park chef team. During the dinner the guests were treated to a surprise visit from the Singing Waiter’s and everyone rose to their feet to wave napkins in the air, sing along and dance. Their meal ended with some tear-jerking speeches by the father of the bride, best man and groom.
I arrived during those heart-felt speeches, such a privilege to be witness to a snap-shot of this couple’s special day. I set up their dessert table quietly, working hard for it to be ready for the start of their evening reception. It’s the best part of my job because I get to see the vision come to life and Lauren and Jack’s smiles were so worth the hard work. It’s why I do what I do, the delight that exudes from the couples I work with, knowing I have been responsible for it, means everything to me.
L & J’s evening reception began with a cake cutting and first dance, and a very sweet and emotional Father/Daughter dance, followed by an outfit change in preparation for dancing the night away and enjoying the delights of their dessert table! In all a very special, emotional and fun-fueled day that was a true reflection of this young and trendy couple.
